About this place
Climbing the stairs late in the morning brings you into a quiet second-floor retreat soundtracked by classical music. Located near Musashi-Seki Station, Ihojin is a compact retro kissaten arranged with a counter and a handful of tables.
Arrive around the 10:30 opening, and the morning set—toast with boiled egg and salad—makes for an ideal start. Buttered toast served with jam, a hot coffee, and a hard-boiled egg in its shell sprinkled with salt deliver a simple, thoroughly comforting breakfast.
For lunch, toast and sandwich sets offer plenty of variety. Alongside ham or egg sandwiches, the menu features pizza toast, cheese toast, and pilaf sets with chicken or prawns.
Later in the day, the afternoon calls for cake sets pairing coffee or tea with cheesecake or strawberry milk tea cake, or a classic chocolate parfait adorned with fruit. Please note that smoking is permitted at the tables, and payment is cash only.
